That's a nice pile Skimerhorn. Glad to see they are in decent and you got some good action. Debating a Potomac sea duck hunt on Friday myself. Usually only buffs but still fun to shoot.

Do these ducks taste good? I am not familiar on whether or not you can eat these or if it’s not recommended due to poor quality meat.

Depends on your taste. Some would tell you that taste like crap but every sea ducks/merganser I have ever eaten have a pleasant liver/beef like taste to them. That can be offsetting to some but I like it and at buttermilk soak can reduce the intensity if need be. My favorite way to cook them though is to smoke them whole then pick the meat and make a pate from them. It's a great way to make use of almost all the bird and works great especially at the end of the season when you may have shot a few too many to eat as stand alone meals. I've never had the pate make it through a party without disappearing.
