Duck hunting near vehicles
#1
So my little boy has been hounding me to take him duck hunting and i don't feel comfortable taking him to my public land spot during dog season. Just too much buckshot flying around for a five year old to be out there. So im taking him to my private land spot. That being said I can drive my jeep to within 10 yards of the blind and make it easy on him but the jeep is kinda out in the open. I've never driven that close to where i set up to hunt. So will ducks flare at a stationary vehicle or is it like a turkey and a ground blind deal where it wont bother them at all? I know this sounds like a dumb question but ive never tested the theory and was wondering if anyone else has.

100 percent park as far away as you can. Ducks will definitely flare or just pass by. Local residents might be dumb but migrators are dang smart and wary in my experience.

That what I figured. Thanks for the input guys. There's an abandoned chicken house 200 yards away. Ill just park in there and we will walk in.
