#1
Has anyone hunted deer at the Appomattox Buckingham State Forest? What did you think of it as a place to hunt?

There are several different parcels that are not always connected so it kinda depends on which area you are referring to. Certain areas seem to draw a lot more attention from out-of-towners while some areas are occupied by local groups. Even though it is public land, some groups attempt to occupy it a lot like it is their own leased land. A large percentage of the land is in some stage of pine plantation

Virginia NWTF has done a lot of habitat improvement work there with DGIF in the last couple of years, and will do more this year as well. These projects benefit not only turkeys but most wildlife.
